Details: Rare and sought after in its original form; incredibly difficult to locate even as a reproduction. This poster has been photographed and is now reproduced in full colour, at A3 size. It is considered a 'must have' for any magic or Buatier De Kolta or Maskelyne and Cooke collector, of course.

Size: PAPER: A3 sized = 297mm x 420mm or 11.7 inches x 16.5 inches] IMAGE: 290mm x 413mm or 11.4 inches x 16.2 inches. As you can see the image nearly fills the paper with a 7mm margin all around [approx].

Materials: 100 GMS [Grammes per metre squared] matte poster paper [Neusiedler brand], coated and treated. Details are vividly reproduced on this type of paper and are perfect for framing and hanging.

Condition: Mint condition. New manufacture, unused.

Description:

This poster is a reproduction of an end of the 19th century poster which depicts the performance of 'Le Cocon [Coccoon] at the Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly, London, England which was owned and promoted by Messrs Maskelyne and Cooke.

As can be seen the poster features the wording "Le Cocon. By Buatier de Kolta. Maskelyne & Cooke's entertainment" along with performance details, venue details, etc.

This was a most famous illusion of Mr Buatier De Kolta and is regarded as one of the original founding concepts of illsuionary magic, a concept still seen in practice today.

The original poster is dated to 1887. You are, of course, buying a REPRODUCTION of this poster. NOT the original!
